The following is a picture documentation
page for the '97 Rav4-EV traction battey tray with a full set of c1996
Panasonic EV-95 NiMH 12v nominal batteries installed.  Note
the white plastic covers which were removed in later models
in favor of an individual rubber cap design.

Note that the emergency disconnect is located at the front of the pack, a.k.a. in
the front seat floor board with the battery control module ECU
in the middle tray.  Later models had the ECU moved to the forward tray and the
disconnect moved to the rear of the tray aligning it with the drivers side (US) rear
seat floor board.

Another notable change between the early and later models
was the fan cooling supply, which was front mounted in '97, and later integrated
into the rear of the pack itself with a dual supply fan system.
